Calling All Writers

Whether you write fiction, poetry, nonfiction, or memoir, this writer’s salon is for you. If your goal is to publish a bestselling book or simply preserve your most meaningful stories, you’ll find inspiration, encouragement, and community among fellow writers.

Join us on Thursday, September 3rd, at 6:30 PM for this FREE Lit Lab as we share our work with like-minded writers.

What to Expect

This month’s Lit Lab we will begin to briefly discuss building your creative community but the majority of our time will be spent reading each others’ work and providing feedback.

Participants are invited to bring a typed writing sample to share with the group. Please choose a piece of 1,000 words or fewer with an optional 250 word introduction to provide context for the piece. The introduction is not included in the 1,000-word limit. Our goal is for each writer to get feedback from 2 other participants but you will not be expected to read your work aloud.

No printer? No problem. E-mail your piece to Robin at robin@auburnoilbooksellers.com by noon on September 3rd.

You don’t need a finished draft to join us. Whether you’re just beginning, not quite ready to share your work, or simply want dedicated time to focus on your writing, this space is for you.

• Come work on your writing-in-progress (WIP) in a supportive, no-pressure environment.
• Not sure what to write? Writing prompts are available upon request to help you get started.
• Bring your ideas, your notebook, or your laptop—we’ll provide the time and space to write.

While attendance is free, RSVPs help us create the best experience for our guests. First-time attendees are encouraged to complete our Google Survey so we can learn more about you. Returning guests can simply RSVP below— we can’t wait to welcome you back.
